What’s been happening here? Despite the doom and gloom all around, our year has been surprisingly ‘average’. We consider this something of a result. Given the strength of the Euro I feel that the outlook for the Hardy Nursery Stock industry in this country for the next twelve months at least is really good; unless it manages to shoot itself in the foot.

This coming season? After last season’s additions to the Fern and Vine ranges we’ve turned our minds to our Shrubs and Climbers. Over 40 new varieties have been introduced and about the same number of non performing lines has been dropped. Our production levels remain unchanged, as do the number of lines we grow.

Who we are and what we do Country Garden Plant Sales have been in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck for over 20 years now. We’re blessed with a superb, mild location and good light levels. We’re a small, cheerful nursery that does it’s best to match the larger, grumpy nurseries on quality, service and price. Over the last few years we have come to specialise in certain areas:

We specialise in Hardy Ferns, just over 40,000 this season in over 100 varieties. We also grow 7,000+ Hardy Grape vines, a wide range of mainly Mediterranean and New Zealand shrubs and over 50 varieties of three litre trees. We contract grow many lines and are always open to suggestions for new things to try. If you want it; we may be able to grow it for you.
